Om deze reden werd er in 2007 aan de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iso.org\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Internationale Organisatie voor Standaardisatie (ISO)<\/a> gevraagd om een internationale norm voor energiemanagement te ontwikkelen. Op 17 juni 2011 is de eerste versie van ISO 50001 uiteindelijk gepubliceerd.<\/p><p>In 2018 is de tweede en nieuwste versie van de ISO 50001 norm uitgekomen, met in Belgi\u00eb als offici\u00eble naam <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NBN EN ISO 50001:2018<\/span>. Hierbij is de structuur aangepast naar de Harmonised Structure (HS) om integratie met andere managementsysteemnormen te vereenvoudigen. In Belgi\u00eb is het <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbn.be\/nl\">NBN (Bureau voor Normalisatie)<\/a> verantwoordelijk voor de publicatie van (internationale en Europese) normen. Zodra een Belgische publicatie plaatsvindt, krijgt de norm automatisch deze toevoeging.
